This attributes to the "long-term" students requesting entry visas. Short-term student projects' participants should refer to the business visa regulations.
Please prepare and submit the following items:
- Official Invitation issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or its regional offices.
- Diploma or educational certificate – Include your current diploma/certificate, certified by the State or Federal authorities.
- Health Certificate - General health certificate on your current health condition (must be certified by Apostil at the local office of the Secretary of your State and translated into Russian, then certified by the Consulate).
- Education Payment Confirmation – a confirmation of the payment arrangement directly from the University, Institute or College you are going to study at.
- Passport (original) - Your current signed Passport which must be valid for a minimum of study period in Russia with at least two blank visa pages.
- Passport Vital Page – Copy of your passport's vital page(s).
- Passport-Style Photographs - One color passport size photograph 2”x2” on a white background with a full front view of face. Snapshots, machine, home or computer photographs are not acceptable.
- Complete Visa Application - Download the Application Form Application form for US Citizensor for Non-US Citizens, complete the application carefully, clearly and sign it
- Official hospital HIV (AIDS) Test Certificate – Certificate must be certified by Apostil at the local office of the Secretary of your State and translated into Russian, then certified by the Consulate.
- Cover letter – Providing purpose of visit, dates of arrival and departure, cities to be visited in Russia and your telephone or facsimile number.
- Travel Document – One copy of your round trip airline tickets/ itinerary.
- Non-US Citizens Provide Proof of LPR- Applicants who hold other than US passports should submit proof of long- term (at least three years)/ permanent residence (copy of green card) in the United States.
- Payment: You
may pay all the fees with one Cashier's check/
money order payable to “GLOBAL VIP SERVICES”.

NOTES:
- Russian law states that all visitors' passports and visas have to be registered within 72 hours (3 working days) of arriving in Russia. Also you have to complete an immigration document prior to passing through passport control.
- No medical insurance - is officially required for the US citizens, unless they stay in Russia for 6 months or more. Prior to your visit, consult your medical insurance issuer for details. Mandatory medical insurance on the basis of reciprocity is required for the citizens of Estonia, Israel and Finland, as well as for the citizens of Schengen Agreement Member-States (Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and other Schengen states).
